Green Thumb Hack

I don't have much of a green thumb, but I do like to plant a few flowers in the planter at the front of our home.  I finally purchased some plants this week and took advantage of the beautiful weather and planted them today.

Jason had emptied all the dirt out of it for me so I could use all new soil.  I had seen a hack on Facebook that I tried.

I put a layer of soil down and then placed the empty containers where I wanted the plants to go.  Then filled the planter with the rest of the soil.  

 

 

 I then removed the container and put the plant in place.  It was so easy and worked so well!!

 

 

 

 

Hopefully they will grow and fill in the empty spaces.

 

More Mother/Daughter Fun

Also in June Cadence and I had more mother/daughter fun.  As a surprise for Cadence my cousin Sheri and I took her to Theatre Calgary to see the musical Legally Blonde.

Legally Blonde is one of Cadence's favorite movies.  She even dressed as Elle for Halloween last year.

 Before going to the musical we met at Cadence's favorite noodle house for dinner.

 

Then off to the theater.  I love musical theater and I think Cadence does too.  It was a really fun musical and we had a great time with Sheri.

I hope we will see many musicals and plays in the future together!

Middle School Here She Comes!

The end of June also saw the end of Cadence's time in elementary school.  The last day of school they had a Grade 5 Celebration.  Cadence sang with a group of kids, as well as play a ukulele number.

I was feeling quite emotional knowing it was my last time in this little school.  All three of our kids attended there starting in 2009.

After dismissal at 11:45 p.m. we headed to the mall for some girl time.  We had lunch and did some shopping.  Love spending time together, but as she is my broke little best friend, it can be rather expensive.
