18 Months Old

Our Cadence is 18 months old!  How did this happen so quickly.  She is definitely not a baby anymore and is an active, busy, mischievous, sassy, adorable toddler.  She started going to nursery at church.  She went by herself the first week for about an hour then I had to go in with her.  This week she started screaming as soon as I reached for the door.  Daddy joined her in nursery.  I guess it will be a bit of an adjustment for her.  She's been going through a bit of a clingy stage.  I took her to a doctor appointment the other day and she screamed the entire time even though I was with her.  I hope this stage is short lived.  She is so fun.  Has so much personality and her brothers and daddy still love her to bits.

Age - 18 months (October 7, 2015)
Weight - 26 pounds
Wears 18 to 24 month clothes
Shoe Size - 4 or 5
Says - daddy, mom, shoes, sussie (soother), doggy, nummy num, hi, bye, see ya, mine, no, see see (thank you),  sees (please), more, cookie
Still loves her soother (doesn't suck her thumb anymore)
Eats everything (cut up really small), and drinks whole milk
Has 3 teeth
Loves to watch treehouse in the mornings and sit on the couch and drink her milk
Has a thing for shoes and drags them all over the house.  As well as the rocks from my plant.
Eats with a fork (most of the time)
Loves to tease her brothers - will grab something of theirs and start running, looking back to see if they are chasing her.
Is a bit bossy - can't imagine who she got that from?
Nods her head for yes, or shakes her head for no when we ask her questions.

Is definitely a little stinker with a mind of her own.
Her brothers think she is the cutest thing ever!!

Cadence you are such a joy to us.  We are so grateful you were able to join our family.  Love and Kisses!!

School 2015-16

Last week the boys started back at school.  They got prepared by buying any school items they needed.  Their dad gave them each a father's blessing the night before they went back.  Bowen was first to go on Tuesday morning.  He is in Grade 4 this year.  It is his last year at his elementary school.  He was pretty excited to see his friends and find out who his teacher would be.  We headed to the school, they all assemble in the playground and you go around and find what list your child is on.  We quickly found his teacher and Bowen said he was fine and I could go.  Getting so independent.

Ashton started back at school the next day.  He is in Grade 6 this year.  He told me he was fine and didn't need me to come to the school with him.

If I'm not allowed to come to the school I was at least going to take pictures of him leaving.  Since that morning he hasn't even needed me to drive him to the bus stop - he just walks over himself.  How did my boys get so big and independent.  It makes me proud and a little sad all at the same time.

At least Cadence is still little and needs me.  At least for a little while.  She is growing so fast.  She very much enjoyed her first chocolate chip cookie the other day.

She enjoys her juice as well.

I hope it is a great school year.

Garage Sale

This past weekend we held a garage sale.  We had been collecting things that we were wanting to get rid of all summer.  We put up some signs and priced items and put everything out on the driveway.  People arrived early and we were able to get rid of quite a bit.

I had gotten up early and made chocolate chip cookies.  Ashton made some lemonade and Bowen made signs.  The boys sold a little bit, but were disappointed that more people didn't purchase lemonade and cookies.

Overall it was a pretty successful day!

One Last Outing

This past Monday, August 31st was the last day of summer holidays for our boys before they started back at school for the year.  Jason decided to take the day of work and we'd have a family day.  We let the boys decide what they wanted to do.  They picked going to the Military Museum.

Everyone had a great time.  We walked through several exhibits.  The place is huge - I had no idea.

After the museum we headed to the mall, grabbed an orange julius and then took the kids to the "Minion" movie.  Cadence did pretty good.  We kept her in her stroller and had plenty of snacks and drink and she watched most of the movie.

Cadence enjoyed the drink - just don't take it away!

Grabbed a bite to eat at the food court after the movie and then headed home.  It was a fun but exhausting day - especially for one little girl!

More Summer Fun

Of course another trip to Calaway.

Jason's annual work party was held at Heritage Park again this year.  Always a fun time.  After lunch we tried out some vintage rides.

Cadence trying to ignore me!!

Playing with her brothers on the playground.

In the little one house schoolhouse.  Reminds me of Little House on the Prairie.

Enjoying icecream!

We look forward to this outing every year.  Fun family time!

Puzey Campout

This summer mom invited all of us to come and campout at her house for a week in August.  After packing up we headed down Saturday night.

Sunday we all attended church in Champion.  Rachel, mom and I sang a trio in church.  It was really fun to sing together again. After church we had a barbecue.  Jason made his famous ribs and we also had steak and all the fixings.  Very yummy.

The boys slept in a tent outside while Jason, Cadence and I slept inside.  The boys enjoyed being outside and did really well all week sleeping out together.

Monday Jason was able to stay down and in the morning we tie dyed shirts for the kids. We brought t-shirts and Charmaine had gotten all the supplies we would need.

Later that afternoon when Jared and Dave got home from work we were able to go down to Little Bow Provincial Park and take the boat out.  It had been so long.  The kids had fun in the water and enjoyed tubing and Cora water skied.

It was a super fun night, but then Jason had to head home to Calgary to go back to work.  The rest of the week we had lots of fun and stayed very busy.  We spent lots of time at the pool in Champion.

Tuesday night we went up to a movie night in Vulcan and the kids watched "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs II" and the older kids stayed up to watch "Man of Steel".

Lots of fun was had around the farm.  Jumping on the trampoline, exploring, a obstacle race, even a water gun fight.

Grandma had planned a few different crafts for the kids to make.  Always a hit with my boys.

One afternoon we took the kids down to Little Bow again to play at the beach.  We had brought our little boats and the boys enjoyed taking their cousins for rides.

Our last night we had a fire outside and a yummy barbecue.  Cora had a new game for everyone to try.

It was such a great week to get together as family and for the cousins to really spend some quality time together.  Us girls stayed up late talking and Rachel treated us by doing our finger and toenails.  Aunt Char painted the baby girls' toes.  So cute!

I really hope that it becomes an annual tradition.  Thanks to mom for hosting.  I love my family!
