Enjoying every Minute!

Cadence is a busy little girl.  She loves to walk along the couch and explore all over the house.  She plays with her toys and loves snack time.  Just thought I'd share a few pictures of her today.  I think she's about the cutest little thing going!

Checking out her toys in the toybox.

Playing around when she's supposed to be having her bottle.

Having a little snack.

Enjoying every minute with you sweet Cadence!!

Birthday Weekend

Today is Jason's birthday.  The birthday celebrations started on Friday.  My mom volunteered to come up and babysit the kids so Jason and I could go out to celebrate his birthday.  We went to Earl's for a very yummy dinner, and then to the Hunger Games movie.  We had a fun night and enjoyed spending some time alone.  Mom said Cadence did really well and didn't fuss at all.  Saturday the boys and Jason joined Ty and Dane at the movies.  They went to the Hobbit at the Imax.  While they were at the movie, mom, Cadence and I went out for lunch and then shopped at Ikea.  Today's birthday celebrations were pretty low key.  Church this morning, dinner and of course cake!!

We love you so much!!  Hope you have a fantastic year!!

9 Months Old

Our baby girl is 9 months old today!!  I know every month I say I can't believe - but,  I really can't believe it!!!  We love having Cadence in our family so much.  The boys still spend lots of time with her and are enjoying that she is so much more interactive now.  She still has daddy wrapped around her little finger and momma is loving having a little girl.

Age - 9 months on January 7th, 2015
Weight - 21 lbs approx.
Hair - continues to fill in and dark brown
(thicker on the top of her head so she looks like she has a mohawk)
Eyes - blue/green
Size - 6 - 12 month clothes
Sleeping - to her mother's dismay has been waking up around 4 - 5 am to nurse for a few minutes and then go back to bed (not sure if she's teething, or having a growth spurt)
Teeth - none
Has quite the little temper if she doesn't get her way!
Eating - nursing, formula, and lots of pureed foods (loves to eat)
Is crawling on hands and knees
Pulls up to a standing position (allllll the time!!)  Thinks she can walk and just lets go - had a few accidents
Puts everything in her mouth
Makes lots of funny faces

Is always on the go - so it is nearly impossible to get a decent picture ...

So glad you are ours!  Love you Cadence!!

More Get Togethers

After the get together in Champion, we traveled to Cardston the next day to get together with Jason's family.  Jason's mom, all his siblings and some of the cousins were there.  We had a great dinner of roasted vegetables, pork chops in sauce, dressing, salad, and the most delicious shortbread and pumpkin pie for dessert.

Then we had our gift exchange.  We had Jason's sister Nicole and her family's name this year.  We got them a ice cream maker with all the fixings.  I hope they enjoy it.  Grandma had our name this year and got us a really nice crockpot.  The boys got a little toy and t-shirt each.

It was nice to spend time with family.  Unfortunately we didn't stay very long as the weather wasn't great and we wanted to get home before it got too bad.

Ashton took a cute picture of little Bennett and then my camera died so I wasn't able to take any other pictures either.

Our next get together was on Monday night with my cousin Sheri.  We had invited her for dinner.  I served turkey pot pie (with left over Christmas turkey), and salad, with pumpkin pie and chocolates for dessert.

We then exchanged gifts.  We had bought Sheri a notebook and 3 pen set from Anthropologie.  She had spoiled the kids who got three gifts each, and she bought Cadence the prettiest little dress (I'm so excited for her to wear it).  Jason and I got a beautiful table runner (Aunt Sheila made), and a Coronation Street magazine for me!!

Sheri and the boys played games, and we had a great time visiting. We love our tradition of getting together.

Til next year!

Puzey Get Together

After a couple of great days at home we headed to Champion for a Puzey get together.  We had a delicious dinner of chicken cordon bleu, potatoes, veggies, and jello salad with christmas pudding for dessert.

After dinner the cousins exchanged gifts.  Cadence received a wonderful quiet book from Cora that Char made - I love it!!  Ashton got lego from Emry, Bowen received a Tetris Jenga game from Freya.

Then presents from Grandma for the grandkids.  Bowen got a slot car track that he loves, and Ashton got three science kits to put together, and Cadence got a blanket with matching stuffie and a cute red outfit.

After the gift exchange we went to the Champion cemetery to see dad's headstone that mom just had made.  It turned out beautifully.

For years Dad has told mom a saying that he wanted on his headstone.  Mom couldn't decide whether she wanted to do it or not.  We finally decided as a family that we really wanted to have it on the headstone and decided to put it on the back.  We love it - and it made mom giggle when she first saw it.

Our baby Kenneth is at the same cemetery just a couple spaces over so we took our first family photo with Cadence.

Then we headed over to the church and played basketball, and the younger kids played in the halls and nursery.

We then went back to mom's for snacks and a Puzey concert.  So much talent was shared and enjoyed by all.

We all stayed up far too late and enjoyed each other's company.  I'm so grateful for my family and that we love to spend time together.
