Swim Lessons

On days like these I'm very grateful for a big vehicle.

The whole crew this morning on our way to swimming lessons.  Today was Bowen and Ashton's last day at lessons.  They have really enjoyed the last two weeks and have become great swimmers.  Bowen passed his level, and Ashton just needs to work on his front crawl and he'll move up.  Congratulations on all your hard work boys!

Low Key Summer

We've been enjoying our summer around here so far.  Summer's like this, when we don't have anything big planned, we call stay-cations!  Jason doesn't have any time off until August, so the kids and I just hang out. Work hasn't been especially busy however so Jason is usually home fairly early so we have evenings together.  I'm enjoying having my evenings free as that will change again in September with lessons starting up.

The boys have been in swimming lessons the last couple of weeks.  That has been going really well and they have been having a lot of fun.  I enjoy watching them swim, and Cadence has been a really good girl at the pool as we wait.  Thank goodness my boys are old enough to get themselves ready and dressed afterwards, so that makes life easier.

We've starting watching Dane and Bennett a little bit again as well.  We love having them over and the kids have so much fun together.

Playing Star Wars - always a favorite in this house!

Stopping for lunch.

Hanging out - watching TV
Jason and the boys plan on putting up their swimming pool this weekend for more stay-cation fun.  We also need to let the boys stay up late one night and roast marshmallows in the fire pit.  More updates soon!

3 Months Old

Another month has flown by already.  Yesterday July 7th our sweet Cadence turned 3 months old.  It has been a great month.  Cadence is in more of a routine - eating about every 3 hours during the day and sleeping around 8 hours a night.  She is a really pleasant, easy going baby and we enjoy her so much.  She got her 2 month vaccinations on June 20th and did really well.

I really enjoy dressing Cadence in all the sweet little clothes she received as gifts.  Alot of her gifts were 3 to 6 months so she can usually wear something new almost every day.  Sundays are especially fun when she can dress up a bit.

This Sunday was no exception.

All ready to go with big brother Bowen!
Age - 3 months on July 7th
Weight - 12 lbs 6 oz (on June 20th)
Fits into 3 to 6 month clothes
Gives lots of smiles.
Has been trying to giggle.
Sleeps on average 8 hours a night at one time.
Has big blue beautiful eyes.
Is in the 50th percentile for weight, height and head size.
Stops smiling the second I pull out the camera!

We sure love our baby girl!!

Stampede 2014 & 500th Blog Contest

We hadn't been to Stampede since 2011 so we decided it was time to go again.  Jason worked for a few hours in the morning on Friday and then came home early and we headed out around 11:00 am for the stampede grounds.

The kids were ready and anxious to go.

I love the excitement and crowds of the midway.  It was fun to walk around and look at all the rides and games.

We met up with a friend of Jason's from high school and his family.  The kids had fun going on rides together.

Bowen and Ashton are in the lanes on the right.

Ashton is in the white shirt.

Love the food, but not the prices!

We also checked out the western art exhibits and competition, as well as the kids area.  We had a really fun day, and everyone was pretty wiped by the end of the day.  Cadence was such a good little girl.  She slept in her stroller all day, only stopping a couple of times to eat of course.  Good times!

I can hardly believe it but today is my...

500th Blog Post

So of course you know what that means - it's time for another blog contest.  The winner this time will receive - a bag of homemade toffees and 4 berry scented tealight candles.

To enter either comment here on my blog, or on my facebook link.  You have until Sunday, July 6th at midnight to enter.  Winner will be announced Monday, July 7th.  Good Luck!!

O Canada

I love living in Canada.  What a wonderful country and I am grateful for my freedom to live the way I wish.  We started our July 1st at our ward's annual pancake breakfast.  My mom, and Ty, Jill and their boys joined us this year.  It was nice to have them with us.  We were served pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and watermelon.

After breakfast the primary children had a parade.

For the third year in a row the boys decided they wanted to build a float for the parade.  Due to a shortage of time available they thought they would make a float they could both carry - so with the help of their dad they built a pirate ship.

They shot their cap guns out of the cannons!

Dane & Bennett playing with it.

Cadence patiently waiting to go home.

After the breakfast Jill and Ty invited us to go to Sundance Lake with them for the afternoon.  It was a beautiful day, maybe a little cool with the wind.  The boys had a great time swimming and playing on the beach with Dane and Bennett.  Cadence was a good girl and slept most of the time.  After a few hours in the sun we went over to Jill and Ty's and had pizza and then headed home.

We had a great Canada Day as a family and was so nice to be able to spend time with extended family as well.  True North Strong and Free!
