What Cadence Wore Wednesday

Cadence has worn most of her clothes that currently fit her - but here is one new outfit she wore this week.

Pink and white sweater dress with white leggings and beret!

I think this outfit is so incredibly adorable!  Plus it is nice and warm for a cold, wintery day!

Ready for Winter

Most winters the boys can reuse some of their winter gear, but this year it seemed they had grown out of everything or it wasn't in good shape anymore.  So off to buy new winter gear we went.  After 4 different stores we finally got everyone outfitted.

All ready for a cold Alberta winter!!

Cubs

Last week Bowen was invested into his cub troop.  Both the boys really enjoy going to cubs.  Bowen took his investiture very seriously.  Jason and I went to watch as well.

Reciting the oath

I'm grateful for the scouting program and what it teaches my boys, and especially for their leaders that make it possible.

Indiana Jones

A few weeks ago we went on a getaway as a family to Edmonton.  The Edmonton Science Centre was having another exhibit.  This one was Indiana Jones in conjunction with National Geographic.  Again we were very impressed with the quality of the exhibit and the boys had so much fun.

There were lots of great props and memorabilia from the Indiana Jones movies, as well as real artifacts and information on archaeology.  We were all given a tablet with headphones and we could watch videos and listen to audio clips.

Movie props and costumes from "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

Real gold artifacts

Costumes from "Temple of Doom"

Watching one of many videos.
Props from "Last Crusade"

Real artifacts

Props from "The Crystal Skull"

Some more amazing artifacts
Cadence was such a good girl.
Each person also completed a treasure hunt with activities to complete.  Here is Bowen's found treasure.

A trip to Edmonton isn't complete without a visit to the West Edmonton Mall.  We spent an entire day at the waterpark.

The boys tried the new "Hurricane" ride, which is a big spinning ball filled with water that you get in to.

It was a great holiday and we had so much fun as a family.

Ashton teasing he was all ready to go swimming at the hotel pool.

On the way home we stopped and visited with Jason's two aunts on his dad's side.  It was really nice to see them again.  They had gotten Cadence a cute little jacket.

Hopefully the science centre will have another exhibit next year so we have an excuse to go again.

What Cadence Wore Wednesday

It has been awhile since I posted on what Cadence wore.  Today I only have 4 outfits but I thought I'd blog anyway.  The amount of clothes that fit her has decreased considerably, but I'm still enjoying dressing her in cute little outfits.

On Sunday Cadence wore ...

A beautiful pink dress with matching shrug from my Aunt Sheila that she purchased in Phoenix.
She looked so adorable all in pink!!  It's still a little bit big so she'll be able to wear it several times.

On Monday she wore ...

Black and white zebra print layered ruffle top with black leggings.
A little baby cleavage - oops!

On Tuesday Cadence wore ...

White long sleeved onesie with gray and white print pants with pink hooded vest.
A gift from Grandma Puzey

And on Wednesday Cadence wore ...

A red ruffled blouse with jewelry details, and plaid leggings.

I could probably dress Cadence in a paper sack and she would look cute!

Babies Are Sweet

My really good friend Shelley had a sweet little baby boy on October 14th.  On Saturday I hosted a baby shower for her.  It was so fun to decorate and have ladies over to celebrate.  About 25 ladies attended and we ate and visited and showered baby Adam with some great gifts.  I think everyone had a good time.

I served chicken salad croissants, veggie tray with dip, fruit, sugar cookies in the shape of baby carriages, brownies, and foamy punch that looked like a bubble bath.

The outfits I had bought for Adam I hung on a little clothesline on the wall to decorate.  I of course forgot to take a picture.  We all signed a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Oh the Places You'll Go" as a little keepsake for Adam, and I had some goodies for everyone to take home including homemade toffees.

Unfortunately the only picture I got of the little guest of honor is this one.  You can see the top of his head in the bottom right hand corner.

Congratulations Shelley!  Enjoy that sweet little baby boy!!
