Oh Canada!

With July 1st falling on a Sunday this year our ward's annual pancake breakfast was held on Monday, July 2nd.  The primary is always in charge of activities for the kids and instead of games this year we decided to have a big parade and ask the kids to decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, themselves etc.

My boys were excited about decorating their bikes and Bowen decided to make his bike look like a motorcycle and Ashton wanted his to look like the Millenium Falcon.

So Sunday night in the middle of the family room the boys and Jason started working on their creations.

Jason was up til past midnight working on them.  He has so much fun doing these kinds of things for his boys.

Finishing details were finished Monday morning before the breakfast.

The pancake breakfast was really yummy.  Pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon.  Always a favorite a fire truck came for the kids to check out.

How Bowen posed for the picture cracked me up!
This was more what I had in mind!

Then we got the kids assembled for the parade.

Trophies and treats were given to the 10 best participants and then treats handed out to everyone.  It was a fun morning.

After helping clean up we decided to take the boys to Calaway for the afternoon.  Bowen was so brave and tried several new rides.  It is hard for him to go out of his comfort zone and try something new.

Looking a bit nervous!

Having lots of fun!!

Bowen informed me after getting off this ride "I won't be doing that again!"

We had a great and busy day.  It was fun spending time together.  The boys fell right to sleep, they were pretty tired.  It was maybe a bit to much sun for this veeerrry white family however.
